thinking about how the entire narrative of fearless was changed because scott decided to not include certain songs on the album. idk if it was intentional that the story behind fearless came across as a girl who is mad at somebody for breaking her heart and vocalising her anger to the audience, but it felt like the real truth behind the album is about how you choose to be brave and vulnerable everyday despite the heartbreak and setbacks you’ve been through. just thinking about how don’t you and we were happy and you all over me are songs that aren’t a snarky take at anyone, it’s just her pouring her feelings out to us and these tracks were kept hidden from the narrative because they wanted to present taylor as someone who only writes mean songs about her breakups. makes me so mad he had that control over her art and makes me even prouder of the fact that she gets to own her story and her music this time.
